    February-Is

…the last days of summer. Enjoy those stone fruits while they last!

Tropical fruits now come into their own with bananas, pineapples and mangoes all plentiful in February. Figs and limes can be enjoyed now too, in sweet or savoury dishes.

Avocados (Hass), capsicum and cucumber are perfect for salads. Eggplant, yellow squash and zucchinis, are starting to appear so look for recipes that use these.

Make the most of seasonal produce in February with the FoodWise Seasonal Meal Plan.

Local farmers markets are a great way to find out what’s in season, support local growers and feed your household with fresh, nutritious produce.

Find out the location of your closest farmers market at the Australian Farmers Markets Association website.

Fresh fruit and vegetable co-ops and delivery services are another easy way to eat seasonally. Find out more at Local Harvest.
