    June-Is

    …mid-winter! Time to cosy up with some warming seasonal dishes!

    June is the season for roasted root vegetables – with carrots, sweet potato and parsnips all plentiful at this time. Leafy greens like spinach and silverbeet can make their way into warming pies, while leeks, celery and onions make the foundation for many a hearty winter soup.

    Pears, oranges and persimmons mix beautifully with spices to make stewed fruit desserts at this time of year. Bananas, quinces and chestnuts are also in season so look for recipes that feature these fruits.
